🌋 Volcano Erupts in Russia After 500 Years
In far eastern Russia, a volcano named Krasheninnikov has erupted for the first time in over 500 years! It shot ash up to 6 kilometers high into the sky.
Experts believe this rare eruption might be connected to a massive 8.8 magnitude earthquake that shook the region just last week. That earthquake was so strong, it caused tsunami alerts as far away as Chile and French Polynesia.
On Sunday, another big quake of 7.0 magnitude hit the Kuril Islands, leading to fresh tsunami warnings in Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula. People were advised to stay away from the shores, just in case.
The Kamchatka region lies in the Pacific Ring of Fire, a place famous for having lots of volcanoes and earthquakes.
🌎 This reminds us how powerful and surprising nature can be—even after centuries of silence!
